Finding His Lane: The Rise of Nate Ash

NATE ASH

Nate Ash is a DJ and producer whose path runs from Los Angeles house parties to Miami’s thriving scene. Introduced to deep house in middle school, his love for electronic music grew through his high school years, where he first discovered the thrill of controlling the vibe at gatherings. COVID shifted that spark into something more serious, as he picked up DJing on a DDJ 800 and started blending everything from Disclosure to John Summit with the energy of rap and pop. By the time he arrived in Miami for school, his focus had sharpened, and a night at Space with Marco Carola and Seth Troxler reignited his passion for the craft.

In 2024, Nate began producing, quickly finding momentum with his first major release Nasty — a collaboration that earned viral support and eventually landed on COCO after catching fire in Marco Carola’s sets. Since then, he’s released on labels like Muse and Repopulate Mars, while shaping a sound that fuses euphoric, airy textures with heavy, driving grooves. With highlights like opening for Seth Troxler during Art Basel and signing with management to expand his reach, Nate is building steadily and intentionally. His TGP038 mix, packed with unreleased originals, captures an artist on the rise — pushing forward step by step, shaping his lane with patience and persistence.

From LA to Miami: A Journey in Sound

Born in Los Angeles and now based in Miami, Nate Ash is carving a place for himself in the house music world. His path wasn’t a straight line — from being the guy who connected to the Sonos at high school parties to earning label releases and opening for icons, his story reflects persistence, growth, and an evolving artistic identity.

Early Sparks and the DJ Bug

Nate’s introduction to electronic music came in middle school when a friend showed him deep house. It wasn’t until his senior year of high school, though, that dance music clicked as party culture began to open up around him. COVID lockdowns cut short the chance to play live, but they also lit a new fire: his best friend bought a controller, and Nate was hooked. “At first I was just the guy playing music at parties, but once I started learning how to mix properly, it became something bigger.”

The Turning Point: Miami & Inspiration at Space

Moving to Miami for school was the real turning point. After nearly selling his gear, a night at Club Space with Marco Carola and Seth Troxler changed everything. “After that set, I was like, holy shit, this is it. We’re so back.” From that moment, Nate knew he wanted to go deeper into DJing and eventually producing, taking the craft seriously.

Producing From Scratch

Nate began producing in January 2024. What started as slow experiments on Ableton quickly grew after sessions with friends, especially his first collaboration with Justin Rabin, which became Nasty. That track didn’t just change his workflow — it caught fire. “At first nobody wanted it. We sent it everywhere and got no’s across the board. Then it blew up, Marco Carola started playing it, and suddenly COCO wanted to sign it.” The experience showed Nate both the challenge of breaking in and the validation of persistence.

Building a Sound: Euphoric but Heavy

Only a year and a half into production, Nate is developing a signature sound — deep, euphoric, and atmospheric, but with basslines that carry serious weight. “I love those songs that give you chills, where you remember exactly where you were when you heard them. That’s what I want to create.” His sets and productions are starting to bridge that balance: dreamy highs and party-ready energy.

Influences and Mentors

Nate’s influences shift week by week, but the through-line is groove and feeling. Producers like Dan Ghenacia, Jaden Thompson, and Chinonegro inspire his current lane, while DJs like Marco Carola and Seth Troxler continue to show him what versatility looks like on any stage. “Seth is one of the most versatile DJs I’ve seen — being able to play both a tiny room and a festival stage like that is crazy inspiring.”

Favorite Sets & Milestones

Among his highlights so far: a small-room Art Basel party with Casablanca, opening for Seth Troxler where Joseph Capriati happened to be in the crowd and outdoor events like Lion Heart playing b2b with prince!. “That night with Seth was surreal. I looked over and people I look up to were vibing to my set — it was a moment I won’t forget.”

Management, Momentum, and What’s Next

Recently signing with management has opened new doors, giving Nate more space to focus on production while his team connects him with labels and opportunities. With releases already on COCO, MUSE, and Repopulate, plus a steady flow of originals in the pipeline, his focus is on growth. “It doesn’t happen overnight. It’s all little steps. Sometimes you have to have a short memory, keep moving forward, and just keep putting in the work.”

Final Words

For Nate Ash, the story is just beginning. From Los Angeles roots to Miami momentum, he’s evolving quickly — and his TGP038 mix, packed with unreleased originals, captures the sound of an artist shaping his lane.
